BTE (Behind-the-Ear) Hearing Aids

These are versatile, durable devices worn behind the ear. Clear tubing attaches the instrument to a custom earmold that is worn in the ear for comfortable retention and sound directivity. A BTE can be fit on persons with mild, moderate, severe or profound hearing loss. BTEs are often more discrete than you might imagine, tucking nicely behind the ear and beneath the hair.

Mini BTE (Behind-the-Ear) Hearing Aids

Mini and micro BTEs are very popular. These tiny behind-the-ear hearing aids are "barely there", and so is the ultra thin, almost invisible tubing that connects them to a soft ear bud or small custom ear piece worn in the ear canal for comfortale retention and sound directivity.

ITE (In-the-Ear) Hearing Aids

These custom instruments fit nicely in the entire outer ear area. The size and easy insertion of both the hearing aid into the ear and its battery into the device makes them convenient to use for many persons with arthritis, numbness in the fingers, visual impairments and other medical conditions requiring special consideration.

CIC (Completely-in-the-Canal) Hearing Aids

These are very small, discrete devices that insert fully in the ear canal with little or no protrusion into the outer ear.

RIC (Receiver-in-the-Canal) Hearing Aids

This style looks like a mini or micro BTE (behind-the-ear) hearing aid, but the receiver is separated from the other electronic components of the hearing aid and placed directly into the ear canal, being comfortably worn within a soft ear bud or discrete custom earmold.

Custom Remote Microphone - aka "The Golfers Hearing Aid"

This is indeed a special hearing aid, available only in the GN Resound  family of hearing aid products. The microphone of either an in-the-canal or completely-in-the-canal hearing aid is removed from the hearing aid and tucked within the upper cartilage of the outer ear. Since the microphone is placed out of the way of the wind, the result is a reduction of wind noise heard by the hearing aid wearer. It is true that golfers enjoy this hearing aid, but so do non-golfers who work or play outdoors!
