I have been an audiologist for almost 30 years. I founded MaryAnn’s Family Hearing in 2004 on my strong belief that the workplace should be a happy and respectful environment for patients as well as employees — nothing less is acceptable. I think we’ve achieved that.
I set out to earn a degree in special education, but when I took a required speech pathology course, I enjoyed it so much that I considered switching majors to speech pathology. That led to some classes in audiology, where I became hooked — I’d found my career path and passion, and things started falling into place! I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in hearing science from the University of Toledo and my master’s degree in audiology from Cleveland State University. I’m also a proud graduate of Trinity High School, class of 1976.
I’ve always gravitated toward working with seniors: As a young volunteer at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, I requested the senior ward while everyone else requested pediatrics. With my vocation, I get to combine both of my passions: audiology and nurturing long-term relationships with my patients, many of them seniors.
My husband, Eric, and I have been married for over 35 years. We have three adult children, a son and two daughters. We also have a dog, two cats, three birds, and lots of plants. I am truly attracted to all living things! My hobbies include indoor and outdoor gardening and swimming.
